Resize Image Online Free: what it does
When you resize an image online, first decide whether you need a smaller file, a new canvas size or both. Width and height are measured in pixels and determine the image dimensions. ResizeMyImage lets you enter precise values rather than relying on a handful of preselected sizes.
Separate dimensions from storage size
Changing an image from 4000 × 3000 to 1000 × 750 cuts the number of pixels dramatically, but the final file size depends on encoding and image detail. Use the Width and Height fields for exact geometry, and a dedicated KB compressor when the destination specifies an upper byte limit.
Choose JPG for everyday photographs, PNG for graphics where lossless edges matter, and WebP when a compatible web workflow benefits from its efficient encoding. The output format selector controls the download; it does not change the original file.
Custom pixel dimensions for everyday photos
Enter a width and height in the Resize panel, then select Crop, Fit, or Stretch before exporting. Crop fills the exact frame; Fit keeps the full photograph and adds background where the ratios differ.
Before you download: limits and trade-offs
A 4000 × 3000 camera photo reduced to 1200 × 900 stays 4:3. Turning it into 1080 × 1080 instead requires losing some edges, padding the canvas, or stretching the image. Stretch changes proportions and may distort faces or logos.
Quick answers for this image task
Can I resize by pixel size?
Yes. Width and height fields accept your required output pixels, subject to browser canvas limits.
Will enlarging fix a blurry photo?
No. Adding pixels through interpolation does not restore missing detail in the original.
