Resize Image Without Cropping: what it does

Resizing without cropping means keeping every part of the original composition. A square photo placed in a vertical Story canvas would otherwise be cut or stretched. Fit mode scales the photograph until its whole frame is visible and fills the unused canvas area with a selected background color.

Why no-crop resizing adds space

When source and output aspect ratios differ, two things cannot happen simultaneously: filling every output pixel and preserving every original pixel without distortion. Fit prioritizes preserving the source by leaving empty space, which can be filled with a solid or blurred background.

For Stories, presentations and banners, the no-crop option is usually preferable to stretching. Use it when multiple people or pieces of text must remain visible in the finished frame.

Fit the whole photo without trimming edges

In Resize mode choose Fit entire image. You can use a solid canvas color or the optional blurred version of the source photograph behind your original picture.

Before you download: limits and trade-offs

Forcing a 4:3 photo into a 9:16 canvas without cropping will leave empty space above and below. That is normal: preserving every pixel of the subject and filling a different rectangle completely are incompatible without distortion or generated content.

Quick answers for this image task

Will there be blank bars?

Yes when the aspect ratios differ; choose a solid color or blurred backdrop.

Is the background artificially extended with AI?

No. The blur comes from the existing image; the tool does not create new scene content.
